These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of Emotion Nest, including its articles, reference materials, interactive features, contact form, and EmotionNest Concept Lab. By using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
1. About Emotion Nest
Emotion Nest is an independent educational website that publishes general information about psychology, behavior, social science, and related subjects. The site is not a healthcare provider, therapy service, law firm, emergency service, or academic institution.
2. Educational information only
Content is provided for general educational and informational purposes. It is not medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, financial, or other professional advice and does not establish a professional-client relationship. Do not use the site to diagnose or treat a condition or to replace advice from a qualified professional who understands your circumstances.
If you may be in immediate danger or experiencing a medical or mental-health emergency, contact the appropriate emergency service or qualified crisis resource in your location.
3. No guarantee of completeness or current accuracy
We aim to research, cite, review, and update material responsibly, but information can become outdated and reasonable sources may disagree. We do not guarantee that every item is complete, error-free, suitable for a particular purpose, or current at every moment. You are responsible for checking important information against appropriate primary sources or professional advice.
4. Permitted use
You may access and use the site for lawful personal, educational, and non-commercial purposes. You may quote limited excerpts with clear attribution and a link to the source page where permitted by law. Any statutory rights, including fair use or fair dealing where applicable, remain unaffected.
5. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- use the site for an unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, harassing, or harmful purpose;
- attempt to bypass security, rate limits, consent controls, or access restrictions;
- introduce malware, probe vulnerabilities without written permission, or disrupt the site;
- automatically extract content at a rate that harms availability or disregards reasonable technical restrictions;
- misrepresent Emotion Nest content or AI-generated output as professional advice, verified fact, or a decision made about a real person;
- submit confidential credentials, identifiable medical information, or other sensitive personal data through the contact form or Concept Lab;
- infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
6. Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, original text, layout, branding, diagrams, graphics, and site code are owned by or licensed to Emotion Nest and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party quotations, trademarks, images, and linked materials remain the property of their respective owners. No licence is granted except the limited right to use the site under these Terms and rights granted by law.
7. User submissions and contact messages
You retain any rights you have in text that you submit. You give Emotion Nest a limited permission to process that text only as reasonably necessary to respond to your message, operate the requested feature, protect the service, or comply with law. You represent that you have the right to submit the material and that it does not unlawfully disclose another person’s information.
Do not send sensitive health data, passwords, private records, copyrighted material you are not authorised to use, or information about another identifiable person.
8. EmotionNest Concept Lab and AI output
Concept Lab uses an AI service to turn a submitted scenario into an educational social-system map. Outputs are generated automatically, may be incomplete, biased, inaccurate, or inappropriate for a particular real-world situation, and must be independently checked before use.
Concept Lab must not be used for diagnosis, treatment, emergency decisions, legal decisions, employment decisions, grading, eligibility decisions, or any other decision that significantly affects a person. Do not enter names, sensitive personal data, account credentials, or confidential organisational information. We may apply input limits, rate limits, and safety controls or suspend access where needed to protect the service.
9. Third-party links and embedded services
The site may link to or, with your privacy permission, load content from third parties such as YouTube or Google. Third-party content is provided for convenience or reference. Emotion Nest does not control and does not endorse every statement, product, security practice, availability decision, or privacy practice of a linked service. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that provider’s terms.
10. Privacy and cookies
Our Privacy Policy explains how personal data, cookies, consent choices, analytics, forms, external media, security logs, and Concept Lab input are handled. Optional Analytics and External Media are denied by default and may be managed through the site’s Privacy settings control.
11. Availability and changes
We may correct, update, remove, suspend, or change content or functionality where reasonably necessary, including for maintenance, security, source changes, legal obligations, or editorial quality. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We will not intentionally make a material Terms change retroactive where doing so would be unlawful.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Emotion Nest is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from reliance on general educational content, unavailable services, third-party content, or AI-generated output. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law, including liability that cannot be excluded for fraud, wilful misconduct, or injury caused by negligence where applicable.
14. Severability and no waiver
If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision once is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
15. Applicable law
These Terms are governed by the law that applies to the relevant relationship and cannot remove mandatory consumer or data-protection rights available in your country of residence. Any dispute should first be raised with us using the contact details below so the parties can attempt a practical resolution.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect service, security, editorial, or legal changes. The current revision date appears at the top. Continued use after a change means the updated Terms apply from their effective date, subject to rights that cannot be waived by contract.
17. Contact
Questions about these Terms may be sent to contact@emotionnest.com or through the contact page.
